ROOSTER
Performance Notes
Rooster is one of the most personal songs in the Alice in Chains catalogue — written by Jerry Cantrell as a tribute to his father, a Vietnam veteran whose nickname gave the song its title. Released on 1992's Dirt, it became a fan-favourite and a cornerstone of the band's live set, building from a slow, hypnotic verse into one of the most cathartic choruses of the entire grunge era.
This performance sits within the Radio In Chains concept — the Alice in Chains half of the set where the dark, hypnotic weight of Seattle's finest gets the room it needs to breathe. Performed live as part of the Union Bar debut show in Belfast.
