The Story So Far: A Guide to The Chronicles

Not sorted by date — sorted by where it fits in the story

By Miabella Living Document

We didn't set out to write a blog. We set out to build a live music career for a 16-year-old guitarist in Northern Ireland, and it turned out that the things we were learning, questioning, and figuring out along the way were worth writing down.

The Chronicles isn't a diary. It's not a highlight reel. It's the honest, unfiltered account of what it actually takes to build something real in live music — from the philosophical questions about why music matters, to the practical realities of ticketing platforms and venue economics.

Each post stands on its own, but together they tell a bigger story. Here's how they connect, and the order we'd suggest reading them in.

This is a living document. Every time we publish a new post, it gets placed into the arc below — not by date, but by where it fits in the story. If you're new here, start at the top. If you've been following along, scroll down to see where the latest piece lands.

Part One

The Foundation — Why Any of This Matters

Before you can build a music career, you need to answer a harder question: why does music matter at all? These posts lay the groundwork — not just for what we're doing, but for why we believe it's worth doing.

Part Two

The Landscape — Understanding the World We're Operating In

You can't navigate a system you don't understand. These posts examine the live music ecosystem — its contradictions and its choices.

Part Three

The Strategy — How We're Actually Building This

This is where philosophy meets spreadsheets. The real mechanics of the money, the goals, and the decisions.

Part Four

The Bigger Picture

As the story develops, this section will grow. Topics we're working on:

From 100 to 950: The Venue Progression Strategy (Coming Soon)
The relationship between classical training and rock performance
Building a band when you're the youngest person in the room
Why we don't use backing tracks — and never will
Marketing live music when algorithms don't care about your postcode
